The first international forum ‘Bioprom’ started its work in Gelendzhik

The main forecast session: 'Living to 120: Technologies for Humans' kicked off the Forum and its events. The session featured an array of top-tier experts including Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Inna Svyatenko, Deputy Chair of the Federation Council, Oksana Lut, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Andrey Fursenko, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation.

Speakers of the forecast session discussed the key current technologies aimed at increasing longevity and improving life quality of the population. Denis Manturov shared how 2025 is the year that Russia will witness the planned launch of a new national project on bioeconomics development. The government is now preparing this strategic document. It envisages the introduction of biotechnology. This direction is being actively developed, for example, in agriculture for the production of feed additives and enzymes, and in pharmaceuticals for cancer treatment and vaccines.

Denis Manturov noted that more than a thousand companies are developing biotechnology in Russia. According to the results of 2023, this market was estimated at around 300 billion roubles.

As part of the Forum's business program, participants will attend 30+ events on different topics. Participants will discuss international cooperation, production of alternative raw materials and food security.

An exhibition of technologies and industrial achievements is organized at the Forum. 105 companies presented their innovative products. A tour of the regional stands took place before the forecast session. Vice-Governor Alexander Ruppel spoke about the industrial potential of the Krasnodar region. Kuban is represented at the forum by 12 manufacturers.  They produce equipment for the food industry, machinery and products for agriculture, pharmaceuticals and medical products.
